Special handling equipment

We design custom material handling equipment for applications where standard lifting attachments are not sufficient. These solutions are particularly suited for machine tools, production lines, manufacturing workstations, assembly processes, maintenance operations, and the handling of complex or irregularly shaped components that cannot be safely or efficiently handled using conventional lifting equipment.
Every solution is engineered to suit the specific load, handling process, available workspace, and operator requirements. Our objective is to improve handling efficiency, enhance workplace safety, reduce the physical effort required from personnel, and ensure the accurate positioning of components during assembly, maintenance, or replacement operations.
Custom manipulators and dedicated material handling equipment can be designed as mobile or fixed installations, manually operated or hydraulically actuated, or configured for integration with a crane, hoist, or other lifting device. Depending on the application, the solution may also incorporate rotating mechanisms, interchangeable end effectors, counterweights, support stands, parking stations, locking devices, mechanical stops, and other features to ensure safe, stable, and efficient handling.

A key part of the design process is understanding the entire handling operation. We consider not only the lifting of the load itself but also its gripping, transfer, rotation, precise positioning, and safe placement. For custom material handling equipment, success often depends on details such as the load's center of gravity, the available handling space, operator access, frequency of use, and the required positioning accuracy.

The examples below illustrate custom-engineered solutions developed for specific operating applications and material handling requirements.

CNC machine manipulator

The CNC machine manipulator is designed to simplify maintenance, machine setup, and the replacement of machining fixtures. It enables precise vertical and horizontal handling within the working envelope of an articulated swivel arm, allowing fixtures to be positioned more accurately, handled more safely, and moved with significantly less physical effort by the operator.
The equipment is designed as a mobile manipulator mounted on four wheels. It can be moved either unloaded or with the load securely placed on the trolley's support platform. During handling operations, the manipulator is supported by stabilizing outriggers together with its running wheels, ensuring maximum stability and safe operation while the load is being positioned.
Lifting is provided by a hydraulic cylinder operated with a manual hydraulic pump. This makes the manipulator completely independent of an external power supply, allowing it to be used wherever it is needed. The solution is particularly suitable for applications that require frequent handling of heavy fixtures but where the installation of permanently mounted lifting equipment would be impractical or uneconomical.

Manipulator for rotating runner housings

The manipulator for rotating runner boxes is designed to improve efficiency and enhance safety during the assembly and disassembly of these components. It enables the handling of predefined runner box types together with their interchangeable pouring inserts of various shapes and sizes, allowing safe, precise, and efficient positioning throughout the maintenance and replacement process.

The manipulator's flexibility is ensured by interchangeable gripping heads, allowing the equipment to be adapted to additional runner box types as operational requirements evolve. New gripping heads can be added at any time to accommodate future applications. The manipulator is also equipped with an adjustable counterweight, enabling the center of gravity to be optimized according to the weight and geometry of the handled component for safe, balanced, and ergonomic operation.

The counterweight can also be rotated about the manipulator's axis, allowing precise balancing and accurate positioning of the runner box during installation. This significantly simplifies the alignment process, making the entire replacement procedure faster, safer, and less physically demanding for the operator. By using this method for the removal and installation of runner boxes, the overall replacement time can be substantially reduced while simultaneously improving workplace safety.

Custom Material Handling Equipment

Every custom material handling solution is developed individually to match the specific application and operating requirements. Rather than offering standard catalog products, we provide custom-engineered solutions designed to meet the actual load conditions, the characteristics of the handled component, the available workspace, and the integration requirements of the surrounding production technology.
We provide a complete service covering engineering design, detailed mechanical design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of custom material handling equipment. The result is a purpose-built handling solution that enhances workplace safety, improves handling accuracy, and increases productivity in demanding industrial applications.
Whether you require a custom manipulator, a dedicated material handling device, or the optimization of an existing handling process, we will develop an engineering solution tailored to your specific load, operating conditions, and operator requirements. Our objective is to deliver a safe, efficient, and practical solution that integrates seamlessly into your production process and provides reliable long-term performance.
