Two-piston, two-spring brakes are used for braking the running gear of cranes and crane cats. They have infinitely adjustable braking torque from 0 to their maximum.
At the top of the brake there is a system of rods, springs and levers on which the brake shoes are mounted with asbestos-free lining material. The function of the brake is provided by an electro-hydraulic device.
Optionally, a brake with a base adapted for attachment to the gearbox can be offered, which is properly equipped for this.
It is used for unattended adjustment of the leverage ratios of the brake kinematic system depending on the brake lining wear value. If the AKO is set correctly, it is guaranteed that the value of the defined braking torque will be kept almost constant during the period of time in which the brake lining thickness changes due to wear.
The AKO brake concept is fully interchangeable (connection dimensions, outer dimensions, drum axial height, etc.) with existing brakes - without AKO. Under certain conditions, existing brakes can be extended with the AKO system.
