The German company Eepos is engaged in the design and manufacture of a new generation of modular aluminium crane systems. They represent the simplest form of linear material transport in a wide range of applications. The company is characterized by the use of innovative technologies in their development and production. The company's products find application in environments where the emphasis is on moving material (goods) in an efficient, quiet and user-friendly manner.
Eepos' well thought-out system design and light weight allow for simple and quick system installation - usually without complicated building reinforcement. Mutual compatibility between products and practical accessories forms the basis for minimizing investment and operating costs.
History of eepos GmbH
Ergonomics right from the start
eepos was founded in 2006. Right from the beginning, eepos developed a modular system that is extremely smooth, absolutely jam-free, extremely low-maintenance and long-lasting. And eepos was the first company to manufacture crane profiles exclusively from aluminium. Customers in the automotive and engineering industries were impressed by the smooth operation and flexibility of eepos systems, and the young company grew rapidly thereafter. In just a few years, the aluminium modular system has established itself as the new quasi-standard for light crane systems up to 2 tonnes.
Strategically, eepos was positioned so that the eepos system was essentially designed down to the interface with the handling equipment. This means that both individual crane systems such as overhead cranes or rail systems directly on site, as well as crane systems or rail systems or rail systems several kilometers long have been installed in the production facilities and factories of automobile and machine manufacturers. If the hall was completely equipped with eepos crane systems, the customer only had to connect the handling equipment or devices to the systems for each section. Thus, the production facility had a standardized crane throughout the hall and the general contractor no longer had to deal with unprofitable crane rails over its application.
The fast outrun the slow
This is the motto of eepos because they were convinced that in the light crane industry, aluminium cranes would replace heavy and cumbersome steel cranes. Eepos did not waste years of technological advancement and developed the eepos One modular system into the most comprehensive modular system available on the market. Customers were delighted once they experienced the lightness of the cranes at trade shows or in operation. After the initial fitting of individual eepos workstations, the company won an order for light crane systems for the complete Audi A3 production at the AUDI Györ factory in Hungary. This project was both a confirmation and an incentive to become even stronger and more innovative. eepos thus grew to more than 60 employees in the first years.
For this purpose, eepos has developed the standardised aluminium Move eepos modular system, which can safely capture, relocate and position eccentric loads of up to 500 kg. As a leader in innovation for crane systems, eepos dared to develop a crane made of pure plastic, which was eventually made of carbon fibre. The profile of the eepos carbon crane now allowed ultra-lightweight loading of loads up to 100 kg payload with a load capacity of just 2.8 kg per linear metre. For this and other improvements and innovations, eepos was awarded the renowned „Top 100 Innovators 2015“ award.
Courage, joy of work and a great team
The eepos values of speed and enjoyment, courage and innovative drive, honesty and openness in dealing with each other have been embedded in every product and in all services around the complete modular aluminium system. And customers have rewarded this. The foundation stone was laid with various product families and unexpected rapid growth began. Since 2012, eepos has grown by more than 20% annually and sales have grown from €7.5 million to €20 million in 2018. During the same period, the number of employees at eepos headquarters has increased from less than 30 to more than 90. It was already clear after the move from the building at Enselskamp 3 to another building at Zum Scherbusch 1 that this building would be too small in the short to medium term.
The number of eepos sites around the world has also grown steadily. In addition to strong locations in Europe such as Spain, France, Italy, Turkey, Hungary, Poland and other European countries, Eepos has supplied its crane systems worldwide from locations in Japan, China, Thailand, Vietnam, India, South Africa, USA, Mexico and Brazil. In just 12 years since its foundation, eepos has transformed itself into a globally active engineering group with more than 140 employees.
